Batu Bara, 18 January 2025 –– In a gesture of social responsibility towards flood-affected residents, PT Supra Matra Abadi Tanah Datar (PT SMA), a business unit of Asian Agri, distributed essential supplies to the residents of Sei Muka Village, Datuk Tanah Datar District, Batu Bara Regency, North Sumatra. The aid, comprising 100 sacks of rice, was delivered to the Sei Muka Village Hall and received by local officials on 17 January 2025.

Husnisyah, Manager of PT SMA, stated, “We recognise the significant impact this situation has on the surrounding community, and we feel compelled to assist. As an emergency response, the company immediately distributed 100 sacks of rice to help alleviate the burden on affected residents. The aid was handed over directly through the Head of Sei Muka Village to ensure precise and effective distribution.”

The assistance was received at the Sei Muka Village Hall by the Head of Datuk Tanah Datar District, Efendi, and the Head of Sei Muka Village, Juliani, in the presence of other local officials. Hopefully, this support will help ease the burden on those impacted by the flood.

“We extend our heartfelt gratitude to PT SMA for their swift response and care in assisting our community. The request letter we sent today was immediately met with a positive response, and PT SMA swiftly implemented concrete actions to help. Moving forward, we will continue to seek support from the government and other parties to ensure that all affected residents receive the aid they need,” remarked Efendi.

The village authorities will soon distribute the aid provided by PT SMA to the affected residents. The company hopes that this assistance will bring some relief to those facing hardships due to the natural disaster. Furthermore, PT SMA aspires for this support to serve as a source of encouragement for the residents to remain resilient and united during these challenging times. With this backing, it is hoped that the recovery process will progress more swiftly and effectively for all affected individuals.
