The Topaz GT variety is the result of selection from the Topaz 1, 2, and 3 varieties which have a higher tolerance level against Ganoderma attacks. Topaz GT has shown strong resistance to the most virulent strain of Ganoderma in laboratory tests.
“In order to increase genetic diversity and to minimize pest and disease outbreaks, it is highly recommended to plant Topaz 1, 2, and 3 varieties in a composite manner,” said Yopy Dedywiryanto, Asian Agri’s Head of Plant Breeding to Hortus Magazine.
