Partnerships between companies and smallholders is essential to strengthen sustainability commitments in the palm oil industry, reported Sawit Indonesia.

The report quoted Asian Agri Director Freddy Wijaya as saying that the keys to a successful partnership with smallholders are training, support and the provision of high-quality seeds. This will create a strong palm oil industry consistent with the values of the Indonesian Sustainable Palm Oil (ISPO) system.
