Since the Government of Riau has declared the status of the province under an emergency response status of COVID-19 from early April 2020, Asian Agri Fire Aware Community (MPA) voluntarily continues to make efforts to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic in the surrounding village area.
“We, Fire Aware Community, aside from being volunteers for village fires, we are also encouraged to participate in succeeding the COVID-19 prevention campaign in our village environment”, said Rohman, Chairman of MPA Lubuk Ogung Village who partners with Asian Agri on Wednesday, April 22, 2020.
According to Rohman, the COVID-19 pandemic as well as the forest and land fires can cause breathing difficulty, thus, we all must work together to stop both.
“Right now, every day, the MPA team is assigned to the MPA post to measure the temperature of communities passing through the village, while socializing the dangers of forest and land fires, and succeeding the campaign on hygiene practices, physical distancing, wearing a mask, and hand washing to prevent COVID-19 transmission”, Rohman added.
