In the spirit of celebrating the arrival of Idul Fitri soon, Asian Agri recently distributed 4,875 packages of food to underprivileged residents of three provinces: North Sumatra, Riau and Jamba.
Each package comprised five kilograms of rice and one kilogram of sugar, as well as coffee, tea and other foods.
Ronald Harianto Hutapea, Manager of PT NPK Kebun Bahilang (an Asian Agri subsidiary), was responsible for overseeing the delivery of the food packages.
Ronald said that Asian Agri routinely conducts similar activities every year, to help the public meet their food needs ahead of the festivities.
“This year, we handed out Eid Mubarak packages by targeting the underprivileged first – before we distributed the remaining packages to the surrounding community,” said Ronald.
The provision of the food packages is part of Asian Agri’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, as a form of hospitality from the company to the community.
It is hoped that the food packages received will aid recipients in celebrating the Eid Mubarak holidays joyfully.
