In the past year, Asian Agri Fire Aware Community (MPA) of Tambak Village, is known as a fire patrol, now is also known as a honeybee breeder.
Beyond training to prevent and mitigate forest and land fires, Fire Aware Community (MPA) is also supported by the company to explore alternative income while carrying out fire patrol duties.
“In order to support the financial independence of the Fire Aware Community (MPA), they are assisted to do entrepreneurship. The business chosen is honey cultivation, because we see the potential of honey in Langgam is quite high, then we assess the idea of combining forest protection and developing economic value”, said Hafiz Hazalin Sinaga, Manager of the Fire Free Village Asian Agri when visited kelulut beekeeping location which belongs to Fire Aware Community in Tambak Village, Langgam District, Wednesday (3/4/2020).
