Infojambi.com, Jambi — Asian Agri has expressed its appreciation to its scheme smallholder partners in Jambi by distributing the 2023 premium sharing from the sale of certified sustainable palm oil, totalling over IDR 2.38 billion.
The premiums were distributed to 40 Village Cooperative Units (KUDs), representing approximately 12,500 member smallholders. The distribution ceremony took place at EV Garden, Jambi City, on Friday, 20 December 2024.
One testimony was shared by Basuki, a supervisory board member of KUD Makmur Rezeki. He highlighted that, aside from the partnership, one of the key factors driving the success of the replanting programme is the use of superior seeds. He emphasised that choosing the wrong seeds could result in low productivity and financial losses throughout a crop cycle.
“Our decision to use Topaz superior seeds was made after conducting a comparative study at Asian Agri’s scheme partnership plantations in Riau. The results were very impressive; even at the young plant stage (TM2), production reached 2.5 tonnes/ha/month. Our partnership with Asian Agri has given us the confidence to continue enhancing plantation productivity through the use of superior seeds and sustainable practices,” said Basuki.
