Deputy Governor of North Sumatra, Musa Rajekshah, expressed appreciation to Asian Agri for the company’s support towards the farmers’ groups in North Sumatra who have taken part in the national Palm Oil Replanting Program (or PSR).
One of these groups was the Anugerah Jaya Mandiri Sejahtera (AJMS) Cooperative in South Labuhanbatu.
AJMS’s participation in the PSR involved an area of 157.13 hectares in Perlabian, South Labuhanbatu, while a total of 79 farming households were involved, he said.
The cooperative used Asian Agri’s superior Topaz seeds for their oil palm seedlings during the replanting.
As 148 oil palms are required per hectare, a total of 23,255 oil palms were replanted in the 157.13 hectares.
