Asian Agri fosters diversity and empowerment, creating opportunities for women to build meaningful careers in the agricultural industry. Revorniati, Lisbetty, and Anastasya are breaking barriers and shaping their futures in agriculture.

Discipline, determination, and self-belief drive success at Asian Agri, fuelling our commitment to sustainable production that balances productivity and environmental responsibility. Our recent Sustainability Report highlights that women comprise nearly 22% of our workforce, and we’re dedicated to fostering greater diversity and inclusion. Revorniati, Lisbetty, and Anastasya exemplify how these core values empower women to shape their careers and drive meaningful change in the agricultural sector.

Revorniati Hulu: Living up to a legacy

Joined Asian Agri: 2023

Her current role: Assistant, Quality Control, Kebun Gondai Estate, Riau

Persistence pays off: After earning her degree in agricultural engineering, Revorniati was determined to follow her father’s footsteps at Asian Agri, and it took her four attempts to land a position. The rigorous training at Asian Agri Learning Institute (AALI) pushed her to her limits, both mentally and physically. Fieldwork presented a new set of hurdles, testing her resilience. However, Revorniati’s determination fuelled her. “I wanted to prove my capabilities, both to myself and my family,” she explains.

Standing her ground: Working in the field to conduct harvest checks, handle fertiliser management, and oversee transportation logistics, Revorniati endured scepticism from others at the estate but remained steadfast, drawing strength from the values of determination and integrity instilled by her father. “I know that if I stay true to my principles, I’ll find a way to succeed,” she says.

Lisbetty Anggreni Tambunan: Breaking new ground

Joined Asian Agri: 2021

Her current role: Head of Administrative Affairs, Kebun Soga Estate, Riau

Changing direction: With a background in economics, Lisbetty built a career in banking, then decided to make a drastic change. “My family didn’t know I had applied to Asian Agri,” Lisbetty admits. “When I told them, they were worried. They thought I was abandoning a stable job for something unknown.”

Walking a different path: During her training in 2021, Lisbetty was placed at Kebun Soga as Assistant to the Head of Administrative Affairs, far removed from the corporate banking world she knew. “There were nights when I had to patrol the estate and manage situations where things weren’t going according to plan,” Lisbetty recalls. “It was tough, but I knew I had to prove myself.”

Taking the lead: In addition to the operational demands of the job, Lisbetty had to navigate the challenge of being one of the few women in a leadership role. “I reminded myself that I had to keep going,” she says. “I found a way to connect with the team through a family-oriented leadership approach.”

Anastasya J. Ginting: Overcoming the odds

Joined Asian Agri: 2023

Her current role: Nursery Assistant, Kebun Soga Estate, Riau

Breaking barriers: After earning her degree in agriculture, Anastasya trained at AALI before joining the team as a Nursery Assistant at Kebun Soga – and was met with resistance. “Some colleagues thought I wasn’t capable of leading them,” she recalls. Despite this, she remained focused on her goals. “I had to prove I could do everything they could, and more. But I also had to prove to myself that I belonged here.”

Overcoming doubts: By combining firm leadership with empathy, she earned her team’s respect, going beyond her role by organising events and fostering teamwork. “Leadership isn’t just about giving orders – it’s about showing I’m committed for the long term and truly care about them,” she says.
