The smallholder’s profession, especially oil palm smallholders, is no longer underestimated, especially by young people or the second generation. Because now many young people choose to return to the village to continue managing family-owned palm oil plantations, even though they have received higher education.

Collaboration between the first and second-generation smallholders is needed to realize a sustainably managed oil palm plantation.

Asian Agri’s role is to provide knowledge and information on how smallholder manages their plantation with best management practices.
