Labuhanbatu, 13 December 2024 – In anticipation of the Christmas and New Year holidays, PT Supra Matra Abadi (PT SMA), a business unit of Asian Agri, in collaboration with the South Labuhan Batu Regency Government and the Labusel Industry and Trade Department, held an Affordable Cooking Oil Market event. This event took place in Dusun Sidodadi, located in Teluk Panji Plantation Village, Kampung Rakyat District, South Labuhanbatu Regency, North Sumatra, on Friday, 13 December 2024.
The company organized the affordable market to help ease the burden on the community in meeting their basic needs, especially cooking oil, which often experiences price increases ahead of major holidays. The event was enthusiastically welcomed by the residents of Dusun Sidodadi.
PT SMA Senior Manager, M. Luth, explained that the affordable cooking oil market has become a company tradition. “On behalf of the company, we are very proud and happy to be consistently trusted by the local government to participate in this event. We are also committed to continuing to assist communities around the company. We hope that this affordable market event can be consistently carried out by the local government ahead of religious holidays, as it is very helpful to the community.”
The company distributed 2,500 litres of cooking oil, sold at Rp30,000 per 2 litres, while the market price of cooking oil ahead of the Christmas and New Year holidays is Rp41,300.
The Head of Teluk Panji Plantation Village, Yulidah Nehri, representing Kampung Rakyat District, said, “We are very grateful to PT SMA and the relevant parties for holding this affordable market. This event greatly helps our community to celebrate Christmas and New Year holidays. We hope that similar programs can also be carried out every time we celebrate other holidays, such as Eid al-Fitr,” said Yulidah.
