Pelalawan, 21 November 2024 – Two palm oil mills owned by PT Mitra Unggul Pusaka (PT MUP), Segati Mill (PSG) and Penarikan Mill (PPR), located in Langgam District, Pelalawan Regency, Riau, have received the Zero Accident Award 2024 from the Riau Province Manpower Agency. The award was presented directly by the Head of the Riau Province Manpower Agency, Boby Rachmat, at the Prime Park Hotel Pekanbaru on 19 November 2024. PT MUP itself is a business unit of Asian Agri operating in Riau.

The Acting Governor of Riau, Rahman Hadi, officially opened the event titled “Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Awards Night 2024” and stated, “This award aims to encourage increased awareness of the importance of occupational safety and health in every sector. OHS must be a priority obligation for every company.”

PSG Manager, Joyi Wijaya, said, “This award can be achieved thanks to the cooperation and support of the Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) team who consistently maintain safety and health in our mill. This achievement motivates us to continue prioritizing OHS in all our daily activities. We hope to be able to maintain, and even improve, the conditions that have been achieved, as well as improve any shortcomings that still exist.”

Meanwhile, PPR Manager, Marthin Luther Limbeng, said, “OHS is not only important to protect oneself but also to provide a sense of security and comfort for families at home. By maintaining safety in the workplace, we not only create a safe environment for ourselves but also contribute to the well-being of our loved ones. Therefore, awareness of the importance of OHS not only impacts individuals but also has a positive impact on families waiting at home.”

The Zero Accident Award 2024 ceremony, organized by the Riau Provincial Government, is a form of appreciation for companies that have shown a high commitment to implementing OHS in the workplace. It is hoped that this event can be a source of inspiration for all companies in Riau to continue improving occupational safety and health standards.
