Asian Agri, a palm oil company operating in three provinces in Sumatra namely North Sumatra, Riau, and Jambi, has been implementing the Fire-Free Village program since 2016. The program is a positive solution to forest and land fires that can destroy forests and cause health problems. The Fire-Free Village Program will not be successful without thorough participation of the people living around the plantations. The first step taken by Asian Agri was to establish Communities for Fire Prevention and provide knowledge through regular dissemination.
