Asahan, North Sumatra, 20 April 2021 – Ahead of National Education Day on May 2nd, Asian Agri made contributions to the enhancement of the school facilities at Salwaa Early Childhood Education School, in Gonting Malaha Village, Bandar Pulau District, Asahan Regency, North Sumatra. These enhancements serve to strengthen teaching and learning at the school.
The contributions included a cupboard for book storage, a set of educational toys and a new sound system to support teaching and learning activities. Asian Agri’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Coordinator in North Sumatra, Aris Yunaidi accompanied by CSV Assistant, Puput Dwi Hermasyah conducted a symbolic hand-over of the facilities to the Salwaa Early Childhood Education School Management, Edy Edward RYSihombing.
“We are committed to supporting early childhood education and development in areas where we operate. As we look forward to National Education Day, we remain hopeful that our contributions will serve to the benefit of teachers and children,” Aris said.
In response to the donation, Edy Edward R.Y.Sihombing conveyed his gratitude to Asian Agri, “On behalf of the management, teachers and students, I thank Asian Agri for always caring about education. Their assistance and meaningful contribution have helped us resume face-to-face teaching and learning activities in a safe manner that is also compliant with health protocols,” Edy added.
