Riau Province has a high potential for forest and land fires (karhutla). Therefore, disaster preparedness must be built in all elements of the nation and must start early.
“Preparedness for forest and forest fire is important to be built early on, so that the younger generation understands the dangers of forest and forest fire and will take an active role in prevention efforts. Therefore, we go to school and educate students to understand the danger of forest and land fires and know what to do in the framework of preventing the occurrence of forest and land fires”, said Fire Free Village Program Manager, Hafiz Hazalin Sinaga in front of the students of Permata Peranap private elementary school in PT Rigunas GOR, Semelinang Village, Peranap District, Indragiri Hulu Regency, Friday (28/2).
“The Asian Agri Goes to School program is also a form of Asian Agri’s support for the Adiwiyata school program to provide knowledge specifically related to environmental stewardship”, continued Hafiz accompanied by PT Rigunas Agri Utama Public Relations Doni Zendrato.
