Jakarta, 04 May 2018 – In order to support the Indonesian government’s efforts to control prices of basic goods ahead of Idul Fitri celebrations, Asian Agri participated in the Ramadan Bazaar organized in Jakarta from June 4 to 7 by the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia.
Minister of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia, Enggartiasto Lukita opened the Ramadan Bazaar at the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia (4/6).
As cooking oil is one of the basic needs of the Indonesian community, Asian Agri sold 4,000 litres of palm oil (under Camar and Harumas labelled packaging) at below market price – IDR 10,000 per litre – at the bazaar.
Bernard A Riedo, Asian Agri’s Director of Sustainability and Stakeholder Relations, said: “Every year, we participate in the Ramadan Bazaar held by the Ministry of Trade, to support the government through anticipated price hikes of basic necessities ahead of the festive holidays, by helping people who require cooking oil at affordable prices.”
“We are very pleased with the Ministry of Trade’s Ramadan Bazaar because people can buy basic food at low prices here, during the period when the prices of basic food usually increase,” Bernard said.
“For example, good quality cooking oil can be obtained at the affordable price of only IDR 10,000 per litre,” he added.
