Jakarta, 18 December 2017 – Asian Agri today received two Green Level PROPER (Program for Pollution Control, Evaluation, and Rating) Awards for sound implementation of environmental management at its Muara Bulian and Taman Raja mills in Jambi.
Indonesian Minister of Environment and Forestry Siti Nurbaya Bakar presented the awards to Muara Bulian Mill Manager Sukirman and Taman Raja Mill Management Representative Amy Supriono at the Indonesian Vice President’s Office in Jakarta.

“The Ministry of Environment and Forestry’s Green Level awards will further motivate our continuous commitment to uphold sustainable environmental management responsibilities,” said Bernard A. Riedo, Asian Agri Head of Sustainability & Stakeholder Relations.
The PROPER Awards is an annual program organized by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry in Indonesia which monitors companies and rewards them with incentives if they comply with environmental regulations.
The awards are given to companies which have applied sustainable development principles in the production of goods and services, energy efficiency, conservation of resources, good environmental management systems, and responsible business practices.
“The Muara Bulian Mill has received the Green Level PROPER Award for two consecutive years, and we encourage other Asian Agri mills to achieve the same awards and be good for the community, climate, country, customer and company,” Bernard said.
