Asian Agri has once again received an award from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry in Indonesia.

Two Asian Agri mills, namely the Muara Bulian Mill and Taman Raja Mill, were honoured with the ‘Improved Corporate Program Performance in the Green Category’ Award, Kontan reported.

Indonesian Minister of Environment and Forestry Siti Nurbaya presented the award to Muara Bulian Mill Manager Sukirman and Taman Raja Management Representative Amy Supriono at the office of the Indonesian Vice President.

This award is given to companies which have applied development principles in the production of goods and services, application of environmental management systems, energy efficiency, conservation of resources, and ethical business practices.

“This appreciation by the ministry towards the application of sustainability principles in all lines of corporate activity will motivate us to continue carrying out sustainable environmental management responsibilities,” said Bernard A. Riedo, Asian Agri Head of Sustainability & Stakeholder Relations.

Bernard added that Muara Bulian Mill has successfully won this award in two consecutive years.
It is hoped that the honour would encourage other Asian Agri mills to achieve similar awards and result in direct benefits for the community, climate, country, customers and company.
