RiauGreen.com has reported the pilot project of Asian Agri to develop honey bee as a part of Fire Free Village Program. The fire free honey initiative is the part of Asian Agri Fire Free Village Program’s pillar to develop local economy potential.
Asian Agri develops the fire free honey as a pilot project in Segati Village, Langgam, Riau. The initiative intends to test the market with fire free label products from local communities home industry.
Freddy Widjaya, Director of Asian Agri told RiauGreen.com that Asian Agri help the communities to increase communities awareness of the impact of fires and smoke haze by doing counseling. The company also help the communities to improve their economic aspects by providing knowledge and equipment about honey bee breeding.
Asian Agri continues to pursue formal and informal approach to the communities around the plantation to regularly monitor the surrounding area, so the fire threat could be prevented.
